Jordan Stolz captured his second gold medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics today, winning the men's 500-meter race with a new Olympic record time of 33.77 seconds.
He shattered the previous Olympic record of 34.32 by more than half a second. He became one of two in Olympic history to finish the 500m in under 34 seconds. This honor is also head by silver medalist Jenning de Boo at a time of 33.88.
Stolz defeated his rival Jenning de Boo in this event. Stolz began to trail during the first 100 meters but unleashed a finishing kick to win the event overall by 0.11 seconds.
With this win, the 21-year-old Wisconsion native became the first man to sweep the 500m and 1,000m events at the same Olympics since Eric Heiden in 1980.
