Today, Ghislaine Maxwell appeared in a virtual deposition from a prison in Texas. This was a closed door deposition in front of the House Oversight Committee.
The trial began with opening remarks from Ghislaine Maxwell's attorney: David Oscar Markus. In his opening remarks, he stated that Maxwell is "prepared to speak fully and honestly" if President Trump granted her a full pardon. He also said that Maxwell could "clear the name" of Donald Trump, and Bill Clinton in relation to any wrongdoings with Jefferey Epstein, if she was granted a pardon.
After this statement, Maxwell pleaded the fifth on a "blanket basis," refusing to answer any questions for the remainder of the deposition. She stated this in a prepared statement by her attorney, and this fact was also stated by her attorney during his opening remarks.
President Trump hasn't made a statement about what he plans to do. He has said "he is allowed to" but hasn't stated if he plans to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell.
