B.C. Premier David Eby called the event an "unimaginable tragedy" and confirmed that the government would provide all needed support to the small and tight-knit community of around 2,400 people.
Both Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and Tumbler Ridge Elementary school will remain closed for the remainder of the week.
